Speak out at the Park Board meeting to reaffirm support for maintaining Seneca Park. A congregation had applied to the Park District for ownership so it could put a parking lot on it, in a “swap” for a smaller parcel. The diverse community that surrounds it petitioned against it and the congregation withdrew the proposal but may return.
Urge the Park Board at their July 20th meeting to preserve public park land in Skokie. If anything, we need more parks, not fewer. Elected bodies are meant to be stewards of people and the environment, not conduits for their displacement.
